Discovery World is proud of our commitment to providing experiential learning and educational programming to people of all ages in Milwaukee and around the world. In 25 years, hundreds of thousands of young people and their families have benefited from hands-on technology exhibits and educational programs.

Since the grand opening of our new 120,000 sq. ft. lakefront museum in September 2006, Discovery World has:

  • Attracted more than 350,000 people to our hands-on exhibits, educational programs and the S/V Denis Sullivan.

  • More than 15,000 members enjoy our attraction with their families again and again.

  • Recently unveiled the City of Freshwater ™ sponsored in part by MMSD and Badger Meter Liquid House ™ exhibits.

  • Completed the world-class Helen Bader Foundation's Great Lakes Future ™ - View the world's largest model of the Great Lakes built to scale while you learn about native amphibians, reptiles and fish.

  • Opened the Milwaukee Area Technical College-sponsored HIVE ™ (Human Interactive Virtual Education), the only total immersion virtual reality experience open to the public in the United States.

  • Briggs & Stratton Milwaukee Muscle ™ - Feel the dips and dives of flying and landing an airplane simulator.

  • Rockwell Automation Dream Machine ™ - Interact with models of Milwaukee's own Miller Park, Rockwell Automation's Clock Tower, and the Milwaukee Art Museum Burke Brise Soleil.

  • Johnson Controls TechnoJungle ™ - Lie on a bed of nails, buckle yourself into an automobile simulator or delve into the wonders of the latest innovations.

  • Energy & Ingenuity ™ sponsored by the Wisconsin Energy Corporation Foundation - See the inside of a nuclear reactor and watch it generate energy, view the largest "Wall of Coal" you have ever seen; experience the "Energy Opportunity House" and more.

  • Les Paul’s House of Sound ™ - Experience Les Paul's life, his amazing personal collection and the technology that has shaped modern music.

  • The Reiman Aquarium and Touch Tank - See aquatic life from the Great Lakes, North Atlantic, and the Caribbean. Interact with stingrays, a bamboo shark, slipper lobster, sea urchins and sturgeons.

  • Audio and video studios, technology-rich classrooms, the Shel and Marianne Lubar Innovation Theater and a high definition Digital Theater which guests can experience .
